1K L0F Management Assistant
Based in Seoul, the 1K L0F Management Assistant, internally referred to as White Box, supports the local management department of The Golden Tree’s Operations Coordination Center. The position combines management analysis, oversight of OCC activity and international assignments across departments and affiliated operations.
The 1K L0F Management Assistant works directly with the local management department of the Operations Coordination Center in Seoul. Your responsibility is to support management’s oversight of OCC performance, prepare decisions and follow their implementation across the relevant operations.
You review the information reaching management, examine the evidence behind operational reports and identify matters requiring further investigation or intervention. This includes assessing whether instructions have been understood, responsibilities have been assigned correctly and reported outcomes can be verified.
The position requires a detailed understanding of how OCC coordinates departments, facilities and internal teams across The Golden Tree and its affiliated businesses. You must recognise where an operational problem reflects a wider weakness in supervision, reporting, resource allocation or internal controls.
International deployments form part of the appointment. You may work within different departments to examine local conditions, support a management assignment or establish why an agreed process is not producing the intended result. Findings must be supported by evidence and presented with practical recommendations.
The position carries internal classification ME9-X. No promotion or permanent internal transfer pathway is offered. Assignments in other departments remain deployments within this appointment.
An earned doctorate, such as a PhD, DBA or equivalent doctoral qualification, in compliance or business management is required. Candidates must also demonstrate relevant professional experience applying their knowledge to management decisions, operational oversight or organisational controls.
Your responsibilities include:
- Reviewing OCC performance reports, unresolved escalations, recurring incidents and outstanding management actions.
- Preparing decision papers that distinguish verified facts, assumptions, available options and operational consequences.
- Examining the consistency of instructions, approval records and reporting across departments.
- Identifying weaknesses in internal controls, unclear responsibilities and departures from agreed procedures.
- Supporting management meetings through focused agendas, accurate decision records and follow-up.
- Conducting assigned departmental reviews and verifying the implementation of corrective measures.
- Handling confidential management information with appropriate access controls and careful recordkeeping.
- Coordinating with operational, compliance, technical and local management representatives during international assignments.
You must be able to question a conclusion professionally, assess competing explanations and present an unwelcome finding without exaggeration or ambiguity. Strong written analysis, disciplined judgement and confident communication with senior colleagues are essential.
Technical competence must include advanced spreadsheet analysis, management reporting, document control and the interpretation of operational dashboards. You should understand how information moves between systems, including APIs, automated workflows and reporting integrations, sufficiently to identify unreliable data and coordinate an informed technical review.
The role requires an understanding of organisational accountability across different companies and jurisdictions. You must recognise when a matter requires specialist legal, financial or technical advice and prepare a clear brief for that specialist.
Appointment requires verification of academic qualifications and relevant professional experience, followed by a structured assessment of management judgement and practical capability.
The examination comprises five components:
- Critical-thinking assessment
A professionally administered Watson–Glaser assessment, or an equivalent validated instrument, evaluates the candidate’s ability to distinguish evidence from assumption, assess arguments and reach supported conclusions. - OCC management simulation
Candidates receive a simulated set of operational reports, conflicting instructions, resource constraints and unresolved incidents. They must establish priorities, identify missing information, assign appropriate actions and prepare a management briefing. - Compliance and internal-controls case
Candidates examine a documented operational scenario, identify weaknesses in accountability or controls and propose proportionate corrective measures. The exercise assesses practical application of governance principles and recognition of matters requiring specialist advice. - Data analysis and written recommendation
Candidates analyse a management dataset, identify inconsistencies and distinguish significant findings from incomplete or misleading information. They then produce a concise decision paper explaining their conclusions, limitations and recommended actions. - Structured panel examination
Candidates present and defend their recommendations, respond to challenges and reconsider their position when additional information is introduced. The panel examines the quality of their reasoning, communication and professional judgement.
Assessment uses criteria established for the position. The critical-thinking result is considered alongside practical performance, verified qualifications and the panel examination.
Candidates must demonstrate that they can translate complex information into clear management decisions and explain the evidence supporting those decisions.
The position is based at the OCC Center in Seoul, South Korea, with frequent international travel.
Assignments include regular travel to Shenzhen and other locations in Guangdong, together with Delhi and Mumbai. Travel to Vienna or Bratislava is required once every six months. A visit to Abu Dhabi also forms part of the appointment.
Required business travel is company-funded. Economy-class flights are paid in full. Approved business-class tickets on Etihad Airways or Korean Air are eligible for a company contribution of up to 50% of the ticket price.
Remuneration for the first 24 months is negotiated individually and agreed before employment begins. From the beginning of the third year, the annual salary is KRW 322,900,000. International deployments include bonuses under the terms agreed for the assignment.
The benefits package includes private health insurance and private pension insurance.
A separate family-fund arrangement is proposed from the completion of five years of service, with The Golden Tree contributing KRW 1,000,000 per month. The proposed beneficiary allocation is 62% to the employee or designated family beneficiaries and 38% to The Golden Tree.
The fund’s legal structure, beneficiary rights, access conditions and treatment on departure must be established in separate documentation before this benefit is implemented.
