Night Agent
Night Agents support overnight operations across The Golden Tree’s partner businesses, enterprises and white-label facilities. The position involves frequent postings in Milan and elsewhere in Italy, alongside assignments in Austria, Poland, Germany and Slovakia, and requires at least 15 years of verified military or specialist police service.
As a Night Agent, you support assigned operations during overnight periods, when local staffing and immediate management availability may be reduced. You maintain contact with the responsible teams, establish the status of outstanding matters and respond to situations requiring additional coordination or an on-site presence.
Assignments vary by location and business. Your work may involve supporting facility operations, coordinating urgent assistance, managing handovers, following up on incidents and helping local teams maintain continuity during disruption.
You must understand the purpose and limits of each assignment before acting. Clear instructions, reliable communication and accurate reporting are essential, particularly when several parties are involved or information changes during the night.
The position requires an experienced professional who can apply judgement and restraint in a civilian business environment. You must be comfortable working independently while keeping the responsible management team informed and recognising when specialist assistance is required.
Frequent postings in Milan and other Italian locations form part of the role, together with assignments in Austria, Poland, Germany and Slovakia. Candidates must be prepared for changes of location and periods working away from their usual residence.
Your responsibilities include:
- Receiving a complete operational handover and confirming priorities, contacts and unresolved matters before taking responsibility for an assignment.
- Maintaining awareness of conditions at the assigned business or facility and identifying changes requiring attention.
- Supporting local teams during staffing gaps, technical interruptions, access problems and other overnight disruptions.
- Coordinating with designated management, service providers and emergency services where necessary.
- Following agreed reporting and escalation procedures, including when an issue extends beyond your authority.
- Keeping an accurate chronological record of significant events, instructions, decisions and actions.
- Preparing a clear handover for the incoming team, including outstanding risks and responsibilities.
The role requires calm communication, careful observation and the ability to assess a situation without escalating it unnecessarily. You must distinguish an immediate concern from an inconvenience, verify information before passing it on and explain clearly what assistance is needed.
Professional conduct toward employees, guests, suppliers and members of the public is essential. Discretion must be accompanied by accurate reporting and accountability.
You should be confident using digital reporting systems, shared task platforms, communication equipment and mobile devices. Current first-aid competence, practical incident-management experience and the ability to maintain attention throughout overnight duties are also expected.
Any assignment involving regulated security activities is subject to the qualifications and authorisations required at that location. Previous military or police service does not, by itself, provide civilian enforcement powers.
A minimum of 15 years of verifiable professional service in the armed forces, gendarmerie or specialist police organisations is required. Your service must include duties relevant to disciplined operational support, incident response, protection, coordination or supervision.
Potentially relevant backgrounds include:
- United States Naval Special Warfare, including Navy SEAL service.
- The French Foreign Legion.
- France’s Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale, GIGN.
- Germany’s GSG 9.
- Austria’s Einsatzkommando Cobra.
- Italy’s Carabinieri Gruppo d’Intervento Speciale, GIS.
- Poland’s Jednostka Wojskowa GROM.
- Comparable military or specialist police organisations with documented training and relevant operational responsibilities.
These examples are illustrative. Eligibility depends on the individual’s service history, responsibilities, training and conduct. Service in a named organisation does not automatically establish suitability.
Applicants must provide service records and supporting documentation sufficient to verify dates, appointments and relevant qualifications. Verification must respect any continuing obligations concerning classified or protected information.
Civilian security courses, private tactical training and experience outside formal military or police service do not substitute for the required service history.
Applications cannot progress where material service claims cannot be verified, required qualifications are misrepresented or the candidate cannot meet the lawful requirements of the assignment. Relevant substantiated misconduct must be assessed individually, with particular attention to dishonesty, abuse of authority and unlawful violence.
Selection also considers the ability to work respectfully in civilian settings, follow defined responsibilities, communicate clearly and exercise restraint under pressure. Practical assessments should examine these capabilities through realistic scenarios and structured interviews.
Employment begins under an Italian employment contract. Remuneration during the first six months is €1,800 per month.
From the seventh month, the position provides a net salary of €5.000 - 9,500 per month. The country of assignment may vary thereafter according to operational requirements and the agreed deployment arrangements.
The employment documentation will specify the working schedule, applicable additional payments, overnight duties and arrangements for international postings. The net-salary guarantee must be reflected in the payroll arrangements applicable to each employment location.
The benefits package includes a Golden Tree contribution of €400 per month toward a separate family fund. Under the proposed structure, The Golden Tree retains a 26.5% ownership interest, with the remaining 73.5% allocated to the employee or designated family beneficiaries.
The fund’s ownership, access, vesting and treatment on departure must be established in separate documentation before implementation.
The Golden Tree also contributes toward private-school fees, covering eligible fees up to a maximum of €600 per month for each child. The contribution is limited to the actual eligible fees incurred, subject to supporting documentation.
Assignments require flexibility in location and overnight availability. Working periods and rest arrangements are established for the relevant posting in accordance with applicable employment requirements.
